first thing to do is remove the grill completley and then go to the the wheel well and remove the inside cover. There is a blot hiddn there that holds the headlight in place. Once that is done you can easily see the bolts and remove the headlamp. For projector wiring I removed the bulb holder that they attached and connected the power and ground to the ballast. So you still have the factory h4 plug connected to the headlamp plug. Just splice the low beam wiring and connect t it to your hid hook up. That's about it.

Is it difficult to remove the inner wheel well?

the joint where the bumpber meets the side fender is wuerethe bolt is hidden. You don't need to take the whole thing off. Once you crack it open a bit you'll see a screw holding the bumper to the fender. Remove that then you'll see the bolt holding the headlamp on.

I think the thread that shows you how to do blackhousing on the headlight has pics and instructions on how to remove it. That's what I used when I did mine. Just do a search

The black out light post that i found didn't have any, how to disasseble instructions, but i think i know what your talking about. I think it was the black out grill post. I will try and find it.

The bolt you were referring too, is it what connects where the two meet in these pictures?

yes. When you take that bolt off it provides a small viewing space to remove the bolt on theheadlamp

check out this thread---> zerothread?id=339639

and this one---> zerothread?id=347325

I used a combination of thses two threads on how to do it. In one of the posts there is a crappy picture of the back of the headlamp with the hid bulb in their. You can see the hid in there and cut through the seal to push the plugs through. You can also see how i cut the wire directly off the plug on the headlamp to connect to the ballast for the low beam and left the high beam as is.

low beam---> H3 HID 5000Khigh beam---> H1 halogen

that helps, thanks.

I have taken the front apart, that side bolt that holds the headlight under the fender was a ***** to get off without taking the bumper off. I cracked it loose and it was able to come off by hand after that.

Next i need to rewire the Hids.

This is the wire for the main headlight.

Green, Black, Blue. The other lights dont have to be altered because they plug directly into the headlight.

But the HID has to be split because it has seperate bulbs on the headlight.

I know bob from versa speed has done this.

Other then that anyone else know of the 3 wires which is ground, which is hot...etc?

Don't cut the factory wire. Do it on the headlamp itself. Just follow the wires coming out. One wire hot to low. One hot to high. You'll see one split going to both(ground). Cut your low and one ground going to low and your done. I would take better pics to help but I'm at the airport going out of town now.

Thats a good idea, it would be a hell of alot easier for me to just crimp them together, but if i keep it stock it might be better in the long run in case i want to upgrade at some point in time.

I just have to figure out how im going to get all these wires to fit in those tiney little holes.

The headlamp was used when i purchased them. From the looks of it he already had it wired to plug up. Im guessing the lose red wire was ground to the frame.

He didnt send the caps for the back of the HID compartment, so i hope that doesnt present a problem with the elements, as you can see how dirty the compartment gets in oklahoma.

Question...

Is the versa prewired for fog lights?

When i took my bumper off there were wires with connectors already attached to it hanging down off the bumper.

I will take a picture of it tomorrow.

Perfect for making your own blackout headlights like in the how to articles.

Im waiting on the bulbs to come in via the snailmail due to no one carrying them local that i could find affordablyish.

ps. fixed the shipping on my (original) headlights on ebay.

If they dont peak any interest i may mod them myself and relist them.

I will post pics as soon as i get the bulbs in.
