Need help guys, I have a 07 M35 that seem to be leaking power steering fluid. sometimes its a little sometimes the whole reservoir be empty. I thought I needed a new reservoir so I bought a new one, it worked for about a week and all of a sudden it was leaking again, so I thought maybe it was one of the hoses so I decided to replace them, as I was taking one of the hoses off, not the hose that leads to the pump, but the other I noticed that it was tore, so I figured that was the problem, replaced the hose and it worked about a week, and now its leaking again. I will say I had to get a replacement hose because auto zone and O'reily didn't carry the original hose. Do you think since I do not have the original hose that is the problem? its not as thick as the original but it did fit. Every morning I wake up start my car it has that whining noise I let it run for a min add fluid if I have to and it goes away, well its not as loud as it is when I first start the car.

I'm assuming you have the hose clamps nice and tight. It should start seeping pretty much instantly if you wipe stuff down and watch it.

You have found at least two causes, but there must be at least one more thing. Try having someone turn the wheels from one end to the other while you watch from under the car. Those other leaks may have done damage to the linkage or such. Specifically check the top 4 places: pump, hoses, steering rack, steering cooler (if you have one).
Also, make sure you are using actual Nissan steering fluid, and not some other substitute like trans fluid, or Uncle Bob's 'universal' fluid, etc.

the hoses are clamped nice and tight, I do notice that every morning the reservoir need filling up, but it be nice and wet from fluid leaking, just cannot figure out where its coming from, the hoses be dry but all the fluid is on the ground.

thank you for the reply, I will check up under while someone turn the wheel. it is getting expensive replacing the fluid every other day.

If you are losing fluid every day, it should be pretty easy to spot. Take some time and wipe the engine bay down with some degreaser and get it nice and clean. You'll probably want to get under the car and remove the underlying plastics. Get a flashlight and wipe everything down. Then, have someone start the car and turn the steering wheel side to side. Put some cardboard or something underneath the car so you can at least identify the general location where it's leaking from.

Did you fix this issue yet? If not I will tell you how I fixed mine. First thing I had to locate the leak so engine degrease everything and remove the underliner. Top off the fluid. If your leak is like mine it’s the pressure hose. But I changed all hoses connected to the pump and reservoir just to be safe. I’m glad I did bc they were all dry rotted. When you fix this issue make sure you have both tires off the ground bc you need to bleed the air out of the lines. Fu*k that Nissan bullsh*t. I used Lucas power steering leak filled it and started the car. Rotate the wheel left and right. The car is going to suck in and spit out. It’s all air coming out. Top off and repeat till there is no whining noise. I been fixed for about a month with no leaks

Hey, so it seems to be leaking from the pressure switch. Do I need to have that replaced or is there an o-ring I can change out?

If I’m thinking of the same thing when you buy a whole pressure hose you get the switch and the line. As far as replacing the O-ring I’m not sure if there is an O-ring bc I didn’t have to take mine apart. Honestly I would replace it all. Everything I had in that area was worn and dry rotting.
