ok iv had my 93 hatch for almost 2 years now and iv been dealing with this problem since i bought the car and i have to figure it out if its the last thing that i do.

whenever im coming to a stop in the car, the rpms will go to 0 or just above 0 and sometimes bounce back and idle up and down or the car will just stall out. could this be a vaccume problem? or should i clean the intake manifold? im losing my mind over this already. if anybody knows what the problem is plz let me know thanks!

I think it's the power brake booster.

idle air controller. turn the screw to let more air in when you let off the throttle. hope you fix it sounds annoying.

ok ill check ill give that i try. and yea its really annoying i bought the car my junior year in high school and it drives me crazy. iv replaced vaccum lines i thought it might me the timing on the distributor, then i thought the distributor was shot so i got a new one iv spent a nice amount of money trying to figure this out and i still can't to the bottom of it. i want to put an sr in but im just started college and money isint somehting i have alot of at the moment haha. i hope that this works.

i was told my one of buddies that it could be the intake manifold. he said that i should take it off and clean it. the car has 205k on it. he was saying that alot of built of crap with mess with it and wont let the car read how much air is going in.

could that have anything to do with it or am i just wasting my time with that?

thanks for the help guys.

I have a very similar situation and I've dealt with this situation a bunch of times.

First thing I did was I changed my fuel filter. Then I changed spark plugs and wires. This worked.

I had an alternator problem on my 90 240 which was the first sign of this. Then of course battery failing.

Finally I am currently dealing with the rpms dropping when running heat, loud stereo with subwoofer and this is basically because there's no power running and at a stop so the car just wants to go on the fritz is my thinking.

Anyway the fuel filter, spark plug and wires worked very cheap to do shouldn't be more than 35-50 bucks to try if you haven't already performed a tune up.

It could also be you need a stronger battery... I have the strongest battery made for my vert but it's having trouble. Anyway I hope this problem is already solved or this helped it.

The battery check would be the simplest thing to change.. You buy a stronger battery run it test it if it doesn't solve it take it back and demand your money back saying I bought the wrong one or I sold my car I don't need it... If it's within 2-3 days you're fine! If it does stop it well guess you solved your problem .
