Need help please; code 32 now car won't start. Aaaarrgh!!!

My car ('93 240sx vert) has been throwing a code 32 (EGR system0 code for a while. Because I now need to smog it for reg. I decided it was time to try and fix it. I started of course by doing a lot of research here one nicoclub. Yesterday, I pulled the egr, the bpt(?), the egr solenoid and the egr sensor. I tested them (they all passed), cleaned them inc. hoses (some were REALLY gunked up), and reinstalled them. Today I cleared the code and took it for a short test ride. Within minutes the car died while moving and now it won't start up again. Everything looks fine. There are no obvious things that I can see (though it's rapidly getting dark out). Any ideas.
