changing a headgasket without any experience will be a handful. buy a manual and get some friends (specially with experience) and tackle it. take pics if need to cause when you put stuff back you won't remember where it goes.

isn't it right under the valve cover. Like when you take the valve cover off isn't it right between the top and bottom. or is that the valve gasket. if so where is the head gasket located. If i go and buy a repair manuel for my car will it have instructions on how to change is?Thanks

Solid advice!I would definitely read the FSM (Factory Service Manual)It will tell you how many tools and which tools you need to get the job done. Once you know the process inside and out. Search how to do the process on the internet (Via Google, Yahoo, NICO ect...)Searching on the internet will help because usually there are more pictures.

It wont hurt to search how to replace a head gasket on any engine also.It wont hurt to find some one that has done this before and is willing to do it with you so this way if can guide you though the process.

Only when you know EXACTLY what you are getting into can you really make the decision whether you want to or not...If you do go for it make sure to post a thread so if some thing goes wrong we have pics and might be able to find out whats wrong...

BEST OF LUCK

Part Number: 11044 is your head gasketPart Number: 13270 is your valve cover gasket

When you take off your valve cover you will be looking at the top of your heads. Then you need to remove your head to get to your head gasket.(Once the head is off, you should see the pistons)

It should be noted that if the head gasket is blown it's typically a result of some OTHER problem that needs to be fixed.

Not only that but if the engine was run for too long on a blown or leaky head gasket then the head might be warped and will need to be sent to a machine shop to ensure that it's not warped and fix it if it is.
