It would be best to wire the amp in bridged mode, this make the amp into a sinlge (mono) channel. Based on your statement, I'm guessing the sub has DVC (Dual Voice Coils). What ohm are the DVC's? This will help figure out how to hook up.

My guess is run the DVC's in a series configuration to allow the amp to see a high enough (ohm) load for bridged operation.

Series Circuit - A circuit configuration in which a single current path is arranged among all components. Connecting the positive speaker output of an amplifier channel to the positive terminal of speaker # 1 , connecting the negative terminal of # 1 to the positive terminal of speaker # 2, and the negative terminal of # 2 to the negative output of the same amplifier channel is a series connection. NET increases (numeric) ohm load seen by the amplifier.

The amp's manual should describe how to run in a bridged (mono) mode.
