Two days ago, I found out why my car has been losing a bunch of oil after changing the valve cover gasket. The oil pan (the previous owner used it as a jacking point) is leaking from the backside, the last two bolts between the pan and auto transmission.

1) The problem: I can't slip a deep socket in there. I do have a replacement pan from a donor car.

I also had replaced my hatch which was rusting like crazy. I have hooked every wire properly, except the wiper motor. My car doesn't have the option/wire connectors for the wiper.

1) I was thinking of finding a rheostat switch, but I don't know the proper color represenation corresponding to the wiper's wires.

thanks

1. remove the partial metal plate that is between the support brakets and the bell housing. the second plate stays in but has a huge opening to allow access. the lower smaller plate can be yanked out once the bolts holding the brackets to the trans have been removed.

1.b are you sure the connector for the rear wiper are not tucked up and taped off with blue or gray tape above the headliner in the rear?

The rear wiper wires (4) are a part of the main harness that splits off the harness connecting/powering up the defroster into two plugs/connectors.

The wiper harness has a black (ground), green w/ red stripe, orange, and blue w/ white stripe. I can't figure them out yet.

There isn't any harness tucked under the headliner. I do have a secondary black wire to the defroster than run along the driver side pillar.

Thanks on the oil pan. I didn't really realize it when I was under the car. There was too much oil and grim to tell anything, except the bellhousing and 2 bolts. I'm going to try it when I hit 3K miles for an oil change.

if there is no harness above the headliner then your car may not have come equipped with the factory harness. if the sub harness was specific to the rear wiper then it may have also been omitted during production. you could make your own if you have a FSM with the rear wiper circuit wiring diag. and pick up the switch and timer.
