As some of you may know, my convertible top arm (at the base) has broken....i'm tired of having to reposition it everytime, and I want to get my top replaced soon, but i'm in a bind because the top arm is broken.

Does anyone know where I can either get a replacement, or a certain kind of welder I could use to fix it??

Greatly appreciate it

If its removable, and there is clearance, you might be able to get a small piece of sheet metal and take it to a muffler shop and ask them to weld it togeather for you using added sheetmetal for support.

Yeah, pic would help a lot. Actually, you can buy top frame pieces from Nissan dealership and replace them. I don't think many people buy those, so the part you want might be still available. Price varies from $24 to $423. Side rail is most expensive($423) piece. Please post a pic, I'll try to get a part number and price for you.

Please do not take pictures too close. Sometime, it's hard to recognize what it is. You know what I mean?

Shooot, i thought i posted pics, but apparently i didn't, i'll take some after turkey day.

Alright first things first.

Story: At the drive for dinner, the old lady and myself had the top down. I put the top up, I latched my side, but she didn't latch hers.

Took my ka into boost, and the lil seven psi that I'm running was enough for the driver side latch to give way, and thus breaking my top arm.Only the passenger side one.

Think about your vert with the top up, but the rear windows down. And the base of the arm is where it broke.

Or if the top is down, think about the bottom of the whole assembly, where it folds down first.

I tried welding it with the wire machine we have (dunno what kind we use) but the welds didn't stick. Ok no big deal, stuck a bolt through it, and it broke some more....

I thought about making a plate and using the plate for bracing, but I would rather if I could weld it. If we could only figure out what kind of material it was made out of....

PICS after turkey day

Hmm...According to your description, it sounds like 'Rear Rail Assembly' which is $187.73 from most online Nissan parts stores. Here is the part number.

K3032-6X111 Rail Assy Rear(Passenger side)

This is the piece that's on the very bottom of top frame. It'll be awsome if slownslurious can sell it cheap. Anyway, I'll wait for some pics.

Hey 94 did you have a pic of that?? I was checking the online store and I found it but I didn't see a pic of it. And don't you stay over at richardson??? Cause if you are the same guy, I'm the one that bought the black vert from Texas240sx. You were asking if it came with the boot (which it didn't)

No, I'm not the guy. Sorry! Here's the pic for you. I think it's really important to have this convertible supplement in PDF format. It'll be very easy for most of us to identify parts and stuff.
