Hi, first of all i just want to say that i am a new member and really enjoy reading the NICO-Forums...especially about the RB topics. I guess you guys got me enjoying so much that i decided to do the RB swap!!!! . Anyway, I am doing the RB20det swap on the s14. I got the engine in and everything...and i am using the ka lower harness, therefore i don't need the 8 wires plugs but three wires (white/purple, black/red , and the white/black) off the 6-wires plug on the rb harness. right? But somehow i am a little confused to where it connect to the engine-fuses box. I followed the intruction that it says that...the white/purple(RB) on the 6-wires plug to the white-wire (KA) coming off the ignitor 30 amp-fuse....the black/red (RB) is going to the (GRAY) oval plug near the battery...and the white/black (RB) going to the white-wire (KA) on same oval-plug.....and last, the brown ka plug next to the gray-oval (KA_plug)....run a wire from the black/pink wire on the plug and slice the wire into the black/pink wire at the ECU. But somehow looking at my s14 fuses-box i couldn't find the plugs that the intruction has mentioned. I guess it's for the s13 only. Also, the engine cranked and turn-over, but it's not firing up...i guess that because i fried one of the chip-sensor on the ECU!!!! ...so i tried to test and check to see if i had any power coming off the ignition coil and the transmitor. It does had power to all of the 6 plugs that plugs to the ignition-sparkplugs....but when i put the screwdriver into ones of the ignition coil and crank it up...it doesn't had or show any fire or power. Maybe because i fried one of the ecu chip....or the transmittor is bad ....or the ignition coil pack is bad. But my main concern right now is the three wires that i had mention. Please somebody can help this poor man out!!!! Hi...Kamin and CarlH....i had read lots of your post and it's seen like you guys know what you are doing....Hope you can help me out. Thanks.

make sure you spliced the black pink stripe wire into your ecu's black pink stripe wire, and not into the pink black stripe wire. Thats what I did by accident

Ok, thanks alot Vkoslak. So what you are telling is make sure to sliced the black/pink from the ka engine fuses-box to the black/pink (RB) ecu...or the black/pink on the ka f3 black/pink to the black/pink on the rb ecu?

what im doing is I cut the KA harness back from F8 a couple of feet. Then I take another wire and extend the black/pink stripe wire through the firewall and into the black/pink stripe wire at the ecu.

ok, thanks alot Vkoslak. . I will trying to do that. Oh, what about the other wires that i had mentioned. it's seen that i just can't find the plug that the instruction had say. like i had say before...maybe the intruction was mean for the s13...because on the s14 if i conncected the black/red(RB)...and the white/black(RB) to the oval-plug of the ka fuses-box black/red...and black/white then it's just like hot-wired the engine...it cranked up by itself without the key!!!!!! .just couldn't figured it out why!!!!

most guides are for the s13. You should go to http://www.racebread.com/ they have a forum specific to s14 rb swaps.

no, it's the IGNITION (fuse) wire in the fuse box, pop it open. be sure to connect the side that's not lead to the battery.

as for the "BLACK/PINK" wire--for the fuel pump, it's on one of the plug that is next to the green relays close to the ECU..

stop where you are.it sounds like you are using the s13 rb20 wiring guide which is good and all but if you have a s14 the wiring is totaly diffrent.http://www.rb25det.org in the files section has a wiring guide for the rb20 into a s14 which works...........use that then if you keep having problems post them here, ive done 2 rb20 s14's now off of that guide and changed it a bit on the 2nd time round and it does work.

Ok Carl...thanks alot. i saw one of the post where you just recently helped someone finished their rb20det-s14 swap and so i figured you know what i am talking about. I did used the s14-rb20 guide from the rb20det.com and the rb25det.org sites....and pretty much had everything wired up....even my windshield-wipers are working correctly. what so funny is in the rb20det.com and rb25det.org guides they never mentioned about the 8-wires-plug and the 6-wires-plug. did you used any of that wires on the s14 swap? or maybe i don't need it since i am using the ka lower harness???? since the engine doesn't want to fired up i figured it may be the 8 and the 6-wires plugs, and so i tried to use the s13-guide...hopping it will be the same on the s14....but guess i was wrong since i just couldn't find the oval-plug that the guide mentioned. 75% i am pretty because i fried one of the chip on the ecu...and 15% because of bad ignition-coils or transmitor..and 10% is the black/red wire....white/black wire and the white/purple wire on the rb 6-wires-plug....BEAT THE HECK OUT OF ME RIGHT NOW!!!! Guess i will go back to all my wiring over again and try to see what Vkoslak and Boostsfed had say will work. In the meantime guess i will buy another ecu in case if it was the ecu that cause the problem.

Right now i am waiting for another ecu to arrive since i did fried one of the chip on the ecu and like you had say...i am too hope the the efi harness is still ok. I will try to take pics tomorow and hopefully you know what i am talking about. Thanks alot Carl.
