Hello I have an SR20det and when i Rev the motor and here are the symptoms.

Rev the motor up and let go of the throttle, the idle drops below normal and then goes back to normal.

I am getting intermittent back fires when driving as well.

Also when I am at boost the car stutters during the power band.

The motor also seems to be clicking a bit more in the engine bay. Any Ideas?

Checked for vacume leaks and there were none.

Does this sould like a coil pack issue?

ThanksChris

Sounds more like a fueling issue to me, or possibly timing. Describe your setup. Stock SR? SAFC? Walbro?

Thanks Bwana.

This all started a couple of months ago..I was going on the freeway and all of a sudden i recieved hesitation.

The set up stock sr.

Air filterexhast down pipeWalbro 255 fuel pumpz32 fuel filter. -- changed this since a couple of months ago afte the issue

I have an SAFC2 but it has not yet been hooked up.

Checked the timming and it was fine..

Since then .. still same issue.. i thought it was a leak somewhere. I ran the presure test and noticed my bov was leaking. Pulled off the bov

Ran straight to actuator. Same issue.

Ran a presure test to the actuator no leaks

ran presure test in IC pipes and no leaks.

Maybe plugs?? I do get a back fire so i thought that meant running rich..

Maybe I'm not getting an explosion.. i my theory.. i dono though.

I was going to regap my plugs and try changing the coils?? should i test the fuel pump? I changed it when i swaped out the motor.. so it cant go bad that fast...

thanks againChris

Oh one more thing i forgot to add.. the car will run fine when I'm not on it (boosting). I can rev it up to redline as long as I dont boost. Once i reach a certain psi.. the car starts stutering.. but it will eventually reach max boost..

Thanks again

audible clicking - normal for the INJECTORS, anywhere else please let us know.

stuttering during the power band, did you check your turbo?

oscillating idle, did you check over your iacv and also for vac leaks? in a worst case scenario, it can also be your mafs or mafs wiring. I can testify to having had the mafs cause that problem.

Did you also do a plug read? pull your spark plugs and tell us 1. color 2. any wear on the electrodes 3. foreign liquids on the tips

Fixed the stuttering problem... although I had bought new plugs about a month ago.. i bought another set but this time a step hotter.. prviously i belive they were iridiums with a heat range of 7... i changed them to iridiums with a heat range of 6 wich were stock.. so it fixed that problem..

Funny thing is.. i pulled the plugs and looked good.. no evident wear.. no foreign liquids... just looked normal..

I still have the oscillating idle though. thanks everyone for your help.. That i'm still trying to figure out..
