K, first off you have a timing chain, not a belt. Belt squeal is caused by either a loose belt, loose pulley, or a damaged component. Check the belts for proper tension, then check for play in the alternator, water pump, and P/S pump. The oil plug is already damaged, try applying heat and using vice grips, carefully, don't tweak the pan itself. If that doesn't work, you might need to replace the pan. Sorry to say. Resonance in the car can be several things, worn mounts, loose exhaust heatshields, suspension play, etc. Gear oil would not cause a whine unless it was dry, in that case you would hear it in every gear. Check the differential mounting also, are the bolts tight? Go over the underside of the car thoroughly, pushing and pulling on everything.
