I don't know what might have caused the car on sudden loosing power while driving on freeway. I was drive up the hill or even on the freeway for couple of minutes somehow the car choke and lost the power, however, for a quick fix I down shifted and it was fine for a while then it choke and lost the power again. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with the car. If anyone happen to encouter this problem please help me, I really appreciated. Thanks.

im fixing another 240sx with the same problem. there could be a multitude of reasons.

my first approach was to check timing (timing was off on this engine by a ton). the timing chain may have skipped a tooth.

my second approach was a choking cat. it was clogged so i swapped that out (still runs like crap, but a lot better than before).

next step is to check the EGR. i dont think it would kill the car that much, but it does factor into its runability.

let me know what you find and ill try to help you step by step.
