my question is do i have the sr or ka lower harness?plz help me

p.s. does it matter that its an s14 sr in to a s13 chassis?

The KA lower harness will plug into the alternator, starter, oil pressure sender. The KA lower harness will not directly plug into the sensors on an SR transmission. Generally people just solder those connections straight in. The KA has one or two more extra unused plugs for sensors the SR transmission does not have. There are only 3 sensors on the SR transmission, they are the speed sensor, reverse sensor, and neutral position sensor. You only really need the first two. Off the top of my head the wires for the speed sensor are yellow/black and yellow blue for both the KA and SR harness. While the wires for the reverse are green/white and green/blue, should be the same on the KA and SR harness as well.

With an S14 SR into an S13 chassis you MUST use the S13 speed sensor out of either an S13 KA or S13 SR to get the speedo to work properly.

cut the plugs off your sensors on your KA transmission. Cut the plugs off the sensors on your SR transmission. Solder the plugs off the KA onto the SR, then plug your harness in.

No no, I believe he said the speed sensor is one of the plugs that does NOT plug and play into the SR transmission. You need to solder that SR plugs off the lower harness to the KA harness so that it will be a plug & play. BTW, I'm actually going to be doing this within the next few days, I'll let you know how it goes and if you want, I can post pics

I don't think so. Mines off an 89 240 but the KA24DE should also work which came in like 91+ years.

The ignitor is another issue. Unfortunatly theres not many good guides on it but I have mine hooked up. If you have the SR ignitor its a plug and play, assuming the harness has the SR plugs. Now if your going to get the Q45 ignitor I can take pics of mine hooked up if you'd like. An ignitor other than a q45 96+ or the SR will also require splicing.

I'll take some pics of the ignitor today than and post them up so you can see. And if you want you can wait for the lower harness pics till friday night.

You can see that I spliced it into the harness by cutting the SR ignitor plugs and putting the Q45's plugs

I used the SR harness for the entire thing. I literally cut the connectors of the SR ignitor plugs and than grabbed the connectors of the Q45 and soldered them to the wires where the SR ignitor plugs went. I just followed the diagram on HEAVYTHROTTLE's website

S14's should have came with KA24DE's so I don't see why not. Here's what you can do, which is what I did earlier. I got both the KA and SR harness and put them next to each other than from there you just compare them. the plugs that speedracer1 said that are plug and play with no mods are the ones you should look for, after that just find the connections for the transmission and see if the wires match up(color) than just splice them if they do. match color wired to colored wired from KA to SR

Alrite I didn't get a chance to finish only because I need someone to verify one of the cables wires. The colors are not matching. One the cables I did do, the wire color matched up except on the KA it had grey stripes on them. Here we have the KA harness on the right and the SR plug on the left. I cut them and spliced them together as shown

This is the cable I need to verify before I can finish it.

Just the connectors. Sensors are the same, except the S13 and S14 speed sensors. Those connectors to the sensor themselves are different.

Use the S13 speed sensor.
