I live in PA but close to jersey. Where in Jersey do you live? I've installed the GTR overlays once and the full coverage twice.

That will look real sick man. It's about two hours away according to google maps. It took us about an hour for both of them. It's a lot easier with two people.

Yeah the only difference is that the rear rims on his are 10" I think. Mine are 8.5. I ordered them and then a few days later he posted his thread. on my part. Oh well. Still really happy with the rims.

if you guys are going to come together to do the gtr overlays i DEMAND pictures on how to do it lol. there is a how to on the regular ones but not on the gtr's.

i guess its about the same but it seems like if you stretch it in the wrong place it would cause the circles to deform?

The way that I installed the GTR style was i started down in the bottom corner. Made sure not to stretch the overylay too much while doing that side. Then after i got that side done is when I really started to stretch it. The only problem I've had every time is getting it into the groove down the side of the tail light.

insaneturbo, i just recently installed my GTR reverse cutout overlays, on both i worked from the corner with the reverse light up to the top. since it was my first time doing overlayas at all, the left tail light vinyl had a few air bubbles and a couple scratches, cant really tell from far away, but if u get up really really close you can tell. another factor that didnt help was that i did it alone and in the sun  . but the right side came out alot better since i used the left side as practice haha :mike

and yes you dont want to stretch the circles, i stretched mine a little so just put the heat gun or blowdryer and shrink it again to fix it (if its not THAT strectched that is)

Just a quick question. When you guys did the install did you have to remove the taillights? or can you do it with the taillights still on the car? I saw the DIY in the tech section, but I'm always afraid of taking my car apart :( Please let me know if I can do this install without the removal of the taillights. I drive a dark slate coupe and I really don't like the bright redness of the taillights. Please and Thank you!!

OH! FYI I want to to do the complete overlay. Not the GTR. Sorry I forgot to make that distinction!

you can put the overlays with taillights on the car, but its soooo much harder... you can't adjust the light in the angle you want it since its in only ONE position, elements from the outside may blow into your direction when installing (unless its a calm day out?), and just doing one light takes about 1hr or so to do, so if you decide with an outside install you'll end up wanting to rest a bit since your patience will def be tested hahaa

removing the taillight is soo simple and doesnt damage the car AT ALL. if u follow the instructions, u should be good. the only thing that hangs out from where the taillight was (after removal) is the wires from the lights themselves but I just stretched them alittle so when i close my trunk they'll be inside and not outside like this...

Image

Image I covered them with a white bag to match my car so as to not attract attention.

Image half way done...

Image just rained, so some watermarks may be visible

Image i still need to even out some edges, but got too lazy to do it haha
