Ok, so i see the black box that is mounted with 2 screws and has three wires coming out of the top and 3 wires on the side facing the front of the car. This is the tps right? I have an electro tek digital voltmeter that i just bought to test the tps and i need to know what setting to use and what wire to test. I have keep the black wire off the voltmeter on battery ground right? next i should select 2 or 20 on the DC V selector. Now where do i place the red wire into the tps? and i am looking for .4 at idle right? will messing with the tps require me to re adjust my idle? Sorry for all the questions, but i have to get this car running right.

ok, i tried testing it how i thought it should be tested and got a reading of 9.14v at idle!!! So is it that far off or am i totally not testing it right? I had black wire to battery negative and red wire on the middle yellow wire on the connecter facing the front of the car.

you want to test the pig tail connector off the TPS. not the connector on the TPS.

are you talking about the connecter thats actually hanging underneath the tps? or the connector that attaches to the tps?

alright!! i got it reading at .411 at closed throttle. Is this the proper reading for the '89-92 rb20det engine as well? I just measured my RB20det in my s14 and it read at .51 closed and 4.19 ant WOT. Should it be adjusted to .40 as well?

.45 to .50v is pretty much what all nissans sit at.
