Need help on electical problems Help please

I have a 95 j30...i recently replced my battery and i still have electrical prooblems...it seems when i am at light the car looses power and the the brake light comes on and the battery light comes on...very dimmly almost when the car is about to cut of...i place it in neutral and give it gas in fear of the car shutting down and leaving me stranded...now i have been doing pretty good on doing things on my own. I dont want to go the mechanics. I believe it might be the alternator...Does anyone have a work up procedure on how to remove the alternator and the belts...Help help

yea it might be your alternator or the belt being a little loose im not sure on the procedure on how it should come out but i had mine go and i took mine out and it was a pain getting the bolts out to take it out of there im sure someone will give a procedure on it soon. it wasnt fun changing the alternator out for sure though but got to do wat you got to do.

I would strongly recommend purchasing a Nissan OEM remanufactured or new alternator. In the many years, I've been on this forum, only one member(out of the several hundreds that have come through) has had good luck with an aftermarket alternator. Aftermarket alternators are well known for causing all sorts of electrical, idle and ignition issues on the J, so avoid the headache.
