Need help on car financial !!!!

I bought my A/C in April 08. The interest for 5 years plan is around $5,600 (8.0%, first time buyer). It has been half year now and I want to pay off my car so I don't have to pay my interest for the rest 4 n half years.. My cousin tells me that I still have to pay that interest money (5 years) whether I pay off the car or not. I'm very confused and I need your help.

nope, if you pay it off early, you won't be paying all of the interest...unless you got some sort of weird loan

If you pay it off early you just pay off what is due left on the principal and the interest for the month. You don't have to pay forward interest that has not accrued.
