Hey all,I'm a newb to the site and haven't really check all the topics yet. I just wanted to know if anyone outthere already figure out what is the fix to the problem I'm about to write.1st of all I have a 91 s13 hatch for a couple years now. It's been reliable to me as a daily driver w/ a little bit of mods mostly to the suspension, nothing on the engine, completely bone stock. Until recently, I encountered some trouble, idling like crazy when sitting at the traffic light or even when it gets really hot.As soon as you started slowing down to a stop it flactuates and doesn't stay on 700 rpm at all. It revs like crazy. When it first started doing it, I've been getting engine codes like fuel injector leak, EGR code. And basically cleared all that out. Changed pretty much whatever you can think of like new injectors, spark plugs, EGR, checked all the hoses for leaks, name it its all been done and new but DAMN! still running like ****. Its running rich since this **** happened. The car was never drifted at all, an old lady use to own it. I never drifted yet because of this ****. I'm getting frustrated, I just needed this to make it work for now, since money is tight to swap for the sr engine. PLEASE Help! Im very mechanically inclined and Im really stumped on this one,so whatever ideas you guys have let me know. besides blowing this **** up.

The most obvious thing is that you damaged the o-rings when you installed new injectors. Vaseline. Another easy thing to do is to disconnect the O2 sensor to see if symptoms improve.

thanks for the advice, but did all that too. swap out the o2 sensors for a new one. o-rings for the injectors are fine, I used that white lithium lube stuff that came with it. but still no success. I've been adviced by a well know shop that do sr20 swaps and said this is really common on the KA engines. Can't figure out whats up. I hear a knocking sound now and its getting worse, but ef it. I'll run it til it die, don't want to waist my time nymore Then I'll do the swap. Thanks

cleaning the iacv, tune up, cleaning the egr tubes, vac lines

that'd be my list of stuff to tackle with weird idles. another thing is to check out the plugs at the injectors. with the age of the 91, i'm sure the condition of the plugs themselves leave much to be desired...
