Need help! New alternator and car still is not charging!

I have a good battery and brand new good alternator. It will not charge battery. I was driving and all of a sudden lights went dim and air bag light started flashing then started dieing and eventually shut off. Checked 120amp fuse on positive cable and that's good. Is this a common problem? I'm stumped seems like power isn't getting to the alternator to turn it on. When car is running and I plug in the 2 wire plug it seems to be drawing power. Grounds look ok I think first thing I checked cause I live close to the shore and the salt corrods my cars. Please help

i'm not sure exactly what wire it'll be, but it sounds like the 'exciter' wire from the ECU isn't turning on the alternator to charge the system.

you can check out the diagram page 17, i'm kinda busy at work(all of a sudden >.< ) and can't get into it... i'm assuming you have a G50?
