Need help, neutral safety switch

2001 nissan pathfinder, pretty sure something wrong with the neutral safety switch. Parked over night, 80% chance won't start in the morning by the first time ( everything is fine, just no crank), have to shake the shift gear few times, then possibly will start, otherwise need put the gear on neutral, then start for sure. Possible just need a simple adjustment, BUT HOW? Possible I can do it myself? thanks

The FSM calls it the "Park/Neutral Position Switch". There's about six pages of procedures to check it out. Note: it could be the linkage adjustment.
