i got my car a little while ago and didnt drive it much before i put in my Sr20det and all the other stuff. after i got everything together i drove it around and smelled gas but i figured it was just the car smelling bad and the new engine. when i move my car in the morning theres no gas puddle or anything. the other day i had filled up my tank and let the car idle for about 10 min or so and i noticed that there is a small puddle under the car. it only leakes while the car is on and it leaks everywhere its all over the car tank sides and stuff. i get pretty damn good millage on the thing to i dont think it really leaks while i drive it normally. just when it idling and sitting. if it helps at all i did put in a new walbro fuel pump. any ideas what exactly it is. is it a leaky tank or leak fuel lines. and how much it should cost in labor and parts to fix each the tank or the lines.

thanks alot for your help

WOW, maybe you should check your ends.. make sure they are clamped on... the reason why you see nothing when your driviing is because the pump is shooting the fuel through the fuel line at high speed making the fuel go right over the hole or the mismatched end. WHen its idle, theres really no shooting going on so the fuel isn;t moving fast enough to be able to go right over the hole... get it?

check near the fuel pump (I'm assuming you changed your fuel pump but didn't tighten the clamps on the hoses). Other place to check is up front where you connected the fuel lines.

there is an access cover to the top of the pump housing where the connections are, its held on by a few 10mm bolts, pull that and check for leaks on the rubber lines.

get under your car, between the rear control arms and the gas tank. On the passenger side, there will be two rubber fuel lines that connect the chassis hard lines to the pump. One of those lines needs to be replaced, but just do both. Go to AutoZone and get like 3 or 4 feet of fuel line and get to work. It's not hard or expensive, just kinda cramped. Once you get the lines fed over the fuel tank you can attach them to the pump through the access hatch in the trunk.

I know this because my pump sprayed fuel everywhere when we first got everything wired and almost ready to go. Wayne even made fun of me on my website about it.
