Need Help! Misfiring for terminals 1 and 5...

Hi All,

I have a problem with my '99 Nissan Cefiro VQ20de engine. Ignition coils 1 and 5 aren't firing and we have tried to interchange the coils. It all works but terminals 1 and 5 just wont firing...Please help...Thanks.

I am guessing that you have a VQ30DE not a VQ20DE. The misfires can be due to coils, plugs, or injectors. Quite a few things to look at.

We've tried replacing all the coils and also checked the plugs. We even retraced all the wiring from the harness but we can't seem to find out why ignition coils #1 and #5 aren't firing...We have also checked all the sensors (MAF, O2, IDle, crank, cam, knock) and checked the compression, nothing seems to be wrong it.

Do you have any suggestions what could be wrong?

Have you checked the ignition signal at the ECU?

I am guessing that you have a VQ30DE not a VQ20DE.

A32 Cefis did come with the VQ20

That's what we are trying now. Yes, its a vq20de but most of the parts are almost the same for the vq30de. Thanks.
