Need HELP !!! Metal clinging sound from underneath the car

I have a G37s with approx 4000km on it now.Now the problem is whenever i stop and start rolling again, i now get the sound when i step on the gas to start rolling, i hear a sound "ding" when the car starts rolling...it sounds like metal hitting metal....What is this sound? has anyone else experience this??

It is easily notice especially when i am in the underground garage especially parking my car when swtich from reverse to drive, or from drive to reverse...or from neutral to drive.... I have alrdy made an appt into the dealership for Wednesday but just wondering if anyone else here has this problem with their G37 yet...

The same thing happens with my car. I hate the sound it makes and it scares me a little to be honest. It is also disturbing that other people can hear it. I'm taking my car to the dealer next week.

I'm not sure exactly what the noise you are talking about is but mine is in the shop now having the exhaust replaced. I first noticed the clinging noise when I would start the car up cold and the tach was up a little. I've since realized that when I close the trunk, I can hear a rattle. The guy at the dealer told me that both the coupe and the sedan have received the complaint. We'll see what's what when I pick it up in an hour.

GOT IT......!!!!I just went to the dealership today .... first they said they cant hear anything and there's nothing wrong....so i said alright, why dont i drive it and let u hear it...so he said, ok, then u drive, i listen....and luckily, i live nearby so i drove to the underground parking lot at my home....then the mechanic heard it...

The result is " Rear Axle Bolts needs replaced due to manufacture defect"Parts Order number " 39606-17v0a" x2and " 40073-0L700" x2

These are the parts they are going to order for me and will call me to return for service once its received the parts.

Hope that fixes it. I would have said it was a loose heat shield.

Your having whats called axle ping. it was a problem on the G35's and they didnt seem to fix it on the 37. Its a very common problem. the practice for repairing this is to loosing the axle hubs regrease and tourqe down to new specs. i had the noise along with about 100 other members on another G37 board. replacing the axle bolts themselves will not stop the issur from coming back if they didnt re tq to the correct specs.

I have a 2009 G-37 Convertible with 7000 miles on it and I am getting the ping sound at stopping and accelerating from the stop.
Is the axel ping common in the 2009 G-37?

I dont hear this in my 2010 g37 vert. I have 10k miles on mine.

Good to hear the dealer is working on it.
