I have a 1989 240sx w/ a black top motor and a power fc l-jetrotoday I was cleaning my car and noticed that in my rear battery conversion the the battery box was 1/2 filled with battery acid I went out and got a new battery but now at 5000rmp's my car cuts out (almost like a fut cut switch) A/f is below 10 (cant tell excatly have a AEM wideband) at WOT but if I give it 1/2 throttle it will stay at 10.9 A/F and drive

What I want to know is this normal for a power FC to lose the tune when replacing the battery

It shouldn't lose tune IF saved but if not saved correctly it will lose it when power is disconnected. It sounds like it has lost tune for sure if you are running that rich.

Test your TPS. should read approx .45v shut and approx 5v at WOT. There are numerous threads about running rich. If your TPS is in check look them up and see what you have going on. I am not blowing you off but typing things out numerous times does get tiring.
