OK, I was all set to pick up my 2007 M35x today when I discovered that the lease payment was higher than what was discussed....

someone please enlighten me...

the car had an MSRP of 55,080. I asked for and had the dealer add chrome wheels from another car on the lot.

I assumed the MSRP would then be $56,080 and the residual of course based off the new MSRP...

my dealer is now informing me that the chrome wheels cannot be residualized and the residual has to be based on the original MSRP...

is this true?

i sold cars for 4 years. they can do anything you want. if i would be buying the car i would cancel the deal unless they do what you want.dealer needs to sell cars so try to cancel the deal see what they would offer.good luck.

If it was me, I wouldnt pay for the change in wheels. Just as caug said, they make nothing on cars sitting on the lot. If they refuse, tell them to call you a month later when they really want to get rid of the car then. Its all negotiating, the objective is for you to walk away with the best deal. Dont settle for less!

Definitely negotiate the deal you want ... I called all 5 - and actually went to 4 out of 5 dealers in the Atlanta area to get the deal that I wanted. They all give you numbers over the phone and even in person that 'change' at the last minute ... but don't settle for a deal unless you are satisfied. Besides being a big investment, you are in your car every day. Enjoy it!! Don't settle for anything less - even if it means waiting an extra month or two, or driving a few extra miles to get the deal you want.Best of luck!Mark

Ditto be patient and understand they need to move the car more than you want it.I'm from Macon Ga. It took me 8 weeks to find the perfect M45 for my desires.I flew out to Oklahoma to buy it.
