Your profile says your 17.

Do you even remotely know what 400HP feels like? Not to mention in a sub 3000lbs car? And do you know how much money it takes for something like a 240 to handle that power SAFELY?

400-500hp is a little unrealistic for you at the moment... you have ALOT of researching to do if your still deciding on what motor to get.

In this forum people will say go KAT. In the SR forum people will say go SR. They are both good motors and capable of putting down real decent power. But you're going to have to decide for yourself. I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but this has been discussed many times. In the end it boils down to what the user wants.

Since you have no real preference, flip a coin and enjoy.

Depending on how much money you have, and what you want to use it for will depend on what you should swap. If handleing is important those are good choices. If its a drag thing go with a bigger motor.

Well, if its not a drag car then get something light. If you want alot of power, LS1. Its made out of AL. If you want something smaller the KA's and SR's are both good. Just pick what you want. I chose the KA because

1. I already have it2. For the price I would pay to swap it to an SR, I could make a faster KA-T3. If I blow up my motor, I can get another KA for dirt cheap, unlike SR's

One is not better then the other. They both have ups and downs. They are both good drifting motors. If you want something different you could always go RB or 2JZ, but they are a little heavier. But alot of people drift very well with them. There is also the VQ and the VG. The VQ is sweet in all the right places, but it costs more and is harder to wire up. The VG is nice too and doesnt cost as much, but its heavier. You can look into VH45. Some people love those engines. If you like honda you can go that route. There is the F20 and F22 motors. Also you can be like that crazy french guy and hook up a H22 motor to a S2k transmission. You can go with a 12A, 13B, Or even 20B. All nice rotories. They make power and are very light. If your a baller I would go with 2 12A's combined.

quad rotory FTW

The reason why I wrote so much is to show you that there is a crazy amount of motors you can use, and all of which have ups and downs. You cant really say one is better then the other. If you want 2 drift, I would recomend go with something light (though not required). Pick one, learn all you can about it, and be happy.

I hate it when people use the phrase "Drop a _________ in" It signifies that they really don't know how much work actually goes into "dropping" said engine/turbo/whatever into said car. Nothing personal towards the OP, just saying thats how ricers talk.
