Ok this is the story, I hit a hugeeee pot hole in the highway going maybe 60-70mph and it cracked the oil pan and the oil was leaking from there. without knowing, I had to keep driving for another maybe an hour. Parked the car and went in to a restaurant to eat, came back, drove the car more (still didnt know I was leaking oil) and after 20 more min, I wentup to about 4000rpm and (downshifted) and came to a stop. When I did, the car died on me.
Turned the car back on, it was stuttering and keep going tick tick tick tick tick tick tack tick sputter tick tick and couldnt idle. I turn the car off, opened the hood and was just checking to see what can be the problem and I checked my oil. It was COMPLETELY dried out. The low engine light thingy in the dash never came on too. So, my friend drove his car to a gas station and got me some oil, waited a little and started the car. It was able to idle but the ticking sound comes back on if I rev the car over 1800rpm. So, basically I drove the car back like that. Question is:
Someone told me to get some Lucas oil, disconnect the coil wire and crank the engine for about 2 min to see if I can get the rods lubed. Would that really work? Im at work right now so I didnt get a chance to try that.
If that doesnt work I guess I gotta put in another KA but any other suggestions? I dont really want to keep wasting money on this getting it checked out and etc if this motor is gone. Please help!!
