I usually recomend using 15w50 for warm months an switching to 10w30 for cold months.

so long as you use 90 weight gear oil, it really doesn't matter what brand you use. Just use a quality brand. If you like royal purple, go for it.

For usin a KA radiator, I fab up a crossover pipe with two 90 degree radiator hose elbows. If you go with the KA rad, you will have to switch to an electric fan.

I don't quite understand what you're asking about the trans. Are you talking about the big dust collar on the end of the transmission? If so, remove it. It's not needed and gets in the way.

I would recommend not bumping an hour old thread. It's late and a lot of people are asleep so responses will be slow

yeah, i think he means the dust collar on the trans... i had the same problem when i put my motor in the first time. we left the interior apart for the test drive and it shot sparks up through the shifter hole

Engine oil use royal purple 10/40 or 20/50 maybe, diff use RP 75/140. The SR and KA driveshafts are different but if you have the complete KA driveshaft and yolk it fits in the SR transmission, it's just a difference of a dust cover.
