I'm looking for some old videos for a marketing class of mine. Specifically the 1989 Infiniti Pre-Launch commercial and the 1989 Infiniti - Flock of Geese commercial. On the www.nissancommercials.com/infiniti.htm site it lists them but the links seem to be dead or there is no way to open a .ram file. I'm not sure which. If anyone can help me it would be wonderful.

Hm, let me see what I can do for you. I'll try and pull someone with access to the video site in here... Hang tight, bud.

.ram files should open directly in a browser as it is primarily a pointer to a video on another site. In this case it seems the site with the video no longer exists so it won't play. I'll look around to see if I can find that video elsewhere but it's doubtful I'll find anything quickly. Seems there were a few .ram links to that site and the video's are all gone.

Note: this may be the "geese" commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKdTCZm9LAM

Just a follow up, any luck? If I can get these videos I can get an automatic 100 for a test grade.

Do you need them in any specific format? You can download Youtube Vids using FireFox, I use the downloadhelper extension. It will download YouTube videos in the .flv format, and then you can use VLC media player to play the flash videos.

The geese one is linked in my first reply. If you have to have a copy then do what is mentioned above or go to http://www.keepvid.com/

I don't have the first video nor expect to find a copy any time soon. It's been so long I don't even remember what it looked like to do searches for.

Its primarily the first vid I need. Oddly enough I'm using it as an example of a marketing campaign gone terribly wrong. If its gone its gone but I do really appreciate it guys. Thanks for taking the time to help. Guess I'll have to use the Apple Superbowl ad like everyone else.

I believe that the video you are talking about is called "rocks and trees", and this might help. But, it wants to get you to make an account?

I dunno, see if it helps: http://tvnews.vanderbilt.edu/program.pl?ID=119895

Who knows, right?

Yeah, I remember the video now. It was by Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos ad agency and after it was a flop Nissan dropped them. Probably why the video is so difficult to find at this point, IMO.
