need help installing sr oil pump

i was wondering if u any of u guys out there knows if its ez to install sr oil pump assemble or is it hard, or should i let a tech do it? if u do plz give me some info thx or instructions on how to install the oil pump thx...

Method #1You will have to remove both oil pans on the engine to remove the front timing cover. Just take the engine out and put it on a stand, It will be easier.

Method#2Remove teh crank pulley.Remove the oil pump adapter on the crankRemove the lower oil pan and unbolt the pickup. Once the oil pump adapter is out you should have enough room to slide the oil pump out but be careful you don't loose the woodruff keys on the crank or you won't have any oil pressure.

and make sure you LOAD the pump up with vasoline whne you put it back in, this will cut down on wear when you crank it after you are done, the vasoline will dissole with oil and you will be that much better off than when you started :)

ok, hmmmm, so what r vasoline supoose to hlep with the oil pump? i mean should i just replace the oil pump and then crank the motor ??? wha do i need to do???

when you put the pump gears into the front cover lube it all with vasoline, then disconnect the coil harness or something so you get no spark to the motor and crank it until the oil light goes out, then plug the coils back in and fire it up..the vasoline is just a little added protection
