Hi, im new to this and I need some serious help. My original stereo in the J30 doesn't work anymore, the cd and cassette player don't work, and the little screen that shows the station doesn't work either. I recently bought the same exact factory stereo that came when the car was bought back in '94. I need help with instructions on how to uninstall my stereo and replacing it with the one I bought.

Thanks

Here are the steps.

Ensure that the car is turned off.

(1.) Locate the trim that surrounds the transmission shifter. Its held in by tabs. Pull it out, almost straight up carefully as to not break the tabs.

(2.)You will notice two sets of screws that hold the wood in place around the stereo head unit and climate control. Undo those screws. The wood should come out.

(3.) Once the wood is out your basically looking at the exposed stereo. It may have some sort of brace that is holding it place, it may be held by a screw or two-I don't remember since its many, many years since I've pulled my stereo out. Undo these screws.

(4.) Pull the stereo out towards you. There is an adaptor holding it in place. Simply unplug the adaptor.
