Hey there; relatively new member here, and I bought my 1.6L Versa base model with no radio about a month ago. I've done the aftermarket radio installation, and I'm getting ready to run the wires for my amp. What I'm wondering is if there's a good guide out there for running the RCA and power wires from the head unit to the amp (IE tearing up the carpet and taking off the trim without breaking anything). Also, is there a hole in the firewall that I can use for power, or do I have to drill my own hole? I've only done this on American cars, so I'm a bit squeamish about getting down and dirty with my new import. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.A person would need to know where you are intending to mount the amp in order to give exact details, but here are the general ones:I mounted my amp on the back of the rear seat. I pulled the trim along the door kick plates and zip tied the wires with the rest already in that pathway. As far as the firewall, I just poked a second hole into the rubber grommet where the main wire harness passes through (careful not to damage the harness). If mounting the amp under the seat, it would be a little different, but not much I would imagine. Regardless, a fused link in the power wire is a must, but I would have to guess you know this from past installs. The rest is pretty similiar to any other car. Popping the trim is pretty basic.

Good luck!

zerothread?id=325760 <~~~ this link shows you the rubber grommet in the fire wall.

As far as running the wires it isn't that bad. I have a HB so it may be a little different, but I would say to be careful when lifting up the kick plates because the retainer clips sometimes stay on the kick plates.

Hope this helps!

Awesome! Thanks for the info on the kick plates, I'll take extra care when taking those off. As for actually mounting it, I was planning on putting it under the seat, which really wouldn't be that much different from the trunk: I'd only be running speaker wire to the trunk from the amp, instead of the whole wire bundle. Thanks for the firewall info too! That was the part I was most curious about.

Thanks again!
