I'm not familiar with the 96 Q30 model but there is a 96 J30 and a 96 I30. In either case here's a link to your Factory Service Manual (FSM). You'll find the self-diagnostics for the trouble codes in the EC section of the manual.

Since both codes relate to the engine coolant temperature sensor and the CEL comes on for insufficient temperature or bad signal, I'd be replacing the thermostat (they fail open and don't allow the engine to heat up properly) and checking the resistance of the sensor by placing the tip in a pot of boiling water. Did the connector get unplugged, have loose pins or show signs of corrosion? You might check that too. It's all explained in the FSM. Ignore the knock sensor code for now as the other two codes probably set it off.
If you have a J30 check out fuzzycats.com. It's an excellent DIY repair website for the J30 that may already address this problem.
Welcome to NICO and good luck with the troubleshooting.
