need help identifying this part

Hey Guys,

new to the 240sx world, all i can say, is Damn these cars are FINE

used to be in the mitsu crap, now i'll die owning a nissan

Can anybody tell me what this part is ? (the one my girl is holding ?)

I just bought this car, and well, there's about 20 things that are unplugged or wires are cut, so i gotta start cleaning it up before the swap.

just from the close proximity to the shifter...

my guess=> front parking brake/ e-brake cable

negative, my e-brake/hand brake works fine.

and the length of the cable doesn't reach the brake mechanism.

Do the 240sx's have a shifter stabilizer link ?

my old pathfinder had one, kinda looked like this, but i just can't find where to connect it anywhere.

that is a key lock cable. Keeps the key in when the car is in drive. If your car has been swapped to a 5 speed, then that is just hangin around since only autos have them. If I had to guess I would say your car has had the 5 speed swap. Does your car also have a button you have to push to get the key out? If it doesn't have the button by the key then your car has def. had a 5 speed swap.

That's wierd. maybe it's different on different models.

I was told you can just cut/pull it out, but I just left mine in there anyways...if you set it off to the side it doesn't get in the way of shifting. Plus it would suck if you took it out and somehow the key got stuck in the ingnition.
