I have an 89 coupe xe i swapped in a ka24de which I'm turboing. Its a huge mess right now and I'm trying to label all the wires and hook everything up of course theres some plugs that I've been unable to identify i looked at the ka24de fsm which has great diagrams that helped me figure out what a lot of stuff was but now I'm stuck on some things and I realize that my engine bay harness is for the ka24e and the diagrams for the ka24de don't exactly match it all up. I've been searching and cant really find any thing and the bootycd for the ka24e kinda sucks i took some pics and was hoping I could get some help.

In the first pic I'm wondering what that plug is for circled in blue? and just to make sure is the one circled in red for the knock sensor?

In this pic I've got three plugs I'm not sure of all close to the ignition and the one on the far left is really weird it doesn't even look like it plugs to any thing could it possibly be a "condensor sensor" just a guess?

also for a part of the harness that goes to the battery, starter, alternator and some sensors on the transmission and more I pulled it off b/c it was missing some sensors and i pulled one from a ka24de and the one from the ka24e has a plug that that goes to a plug below the fuse box and on the ka24de it doesnt have that plug some im wondering what that plug is for and if its important if so is there away i can make the old plug go on to the ka24de harness???

Heres three diff. pics of the plug that the ka24de harness doesnt have on it the first one you cant really see it but thats where its located originally before I unhooked it from right below the fusebox

please help any help is appreciated very much thanks!!!

in your first pic, the red one is infact for the knock sensor, and the blue one is for one of two things.

it goes to the TPS sensor, but if you already have the TPS plugged in, it goes to an automatic's TPS sensor

all the other stuff i really dont know off hand, but good luck...

Okay bout the tps sensor thanks for clarifying thats what its for now i got some more pics with ?s one is a pic of the tps sensor on the throttle body i have on now and the second one is a tps sensor on a throttle body i have from the junk yardboth of the tps sensors have a wire coming from them with plug, but the second one actually has a plug on it that the first one clearly doesn't have so my ? is what the diff. between the two and should switch them out so i can plug my loose wire into the connection?

Also I'm still needing help on figuring out those other wires so if anyone knows please help any help is appreciated thanks!!!

you know, i should know this a little better than i do but ive been out of my garage for a while...

But, im fairly certain this info is correct: The one with two plugs is for an automatic car. The one with only one plug is for your 5speed car. so use the one that corresponds to your transmission

my car is 5 speed but would it hurt to just put on the throttle body with the extra plug so i wont have any hanging wires? and how do i know which of the wires is specifically for the auto or manual?

well i dont think ive ever read anyone who had problems with a auto TPS in a manuel car, especially if youre using an auto ECU you'll be jsut fine. if you have a harness with the extra plug use it.

otherwise i would check the resistence across each and use whichever one is in better spec. From closed throttle to wide open throttle, it should go from 2K-10Kohms. If it goes from 10k-2k youre using the wrong two plugs on the tps terminal.

on the manuel and the auto the part you measure is the "pig tail"

The blue circled thing in the first pic goes into the auto connector portion on the front of the TPS sensor
