So i have a 1990 300zx manual but i went to the mechanic recently and we were talking about my car he asked me if my gas cap was close to the driver side door and it is. He said "You have a good one." I didn't even bother to ask why so i'm coming here to see if there is any significance to the model i have.

Side note, the caps on the liquid reservoirs on in the engine bay are also all written in japanese if that helps?

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

He probably meant the fact that you have a 2+0 instead of a 2+2 which has its gas cap on the other side of the fender. 2+2 is a 4 seater and 2+0 is the 2 seater. Anyways, good luck with your Z!

This.
Only real reason for the question and answer, although track guys swear by the 2+2 for the extra stability of the longer chassis wheelbase.

^ That and the weight distribution is damn near 50-50 on the 2+2, whereas the 2+0 is a tiny bit front heavy. Not that it matters THAT much on a RWD car ;)
