Hey guys, just bought some "supposedly" stock CA18 injectors....( after I dropped and broke 2 of mine )got them home, and noticed they were a redish brown color ( I'm colorblind ), whereas my stock ones are kinda whiteish....so thought maybe not stock ( need to know in case of need to re-programme ECU ).went to plug them in, but the notch "guide" on the side of the plug is slightly offset to the side ( my original ones were in the centre ), so can't plug them in.Rang the guy back up, he says he is sure they are from a CA18DET, as he pulled them from a CA manifold....

otherwise they are both EXACTLY the same externally looking.tested my inj - gave aprrox 1.5ohms resistancenew ones - gave approx 14ohms ( does that mean they are high impedance? )

both have A46-00 stamped on the side....stock ones have " OE80 "nissan symbol" 9221D" stamped in the topnew ones have " 2670 "nissan symbol" 8X24D" stamped in the top

basically want to know what cc's they are ( so can programme ECU for them ), and if they are low or high impedance ( will take them back if they are high )

"stock ones are on the bottom in the pic"

Looks like you have set of CA18DE, high-impedence, injectors. So, the guy was right when he said he pulled them off a CA manifold, but wrong when he said they were off a DET.

I forget what the DE injectors are rated at but you can get them to work by shaving the tab and running a resistor in-line.

However, you're better off getting some DET injectors.

say if he were to get resistors for the injectors he has now..where would he get them? i have a problem now of me putting in CA18DET injectors in my KA24ET setup and need to find resistors, my stock injectors are 270cc high impedence and CA's are 370cc low impedence...where can i find resistors? Are the rating on the CA18DET injectors 1.5ohms?? Thanks

Pretty sure the stock CA18DE injectors are 270cc high-imp. also.

I think I was wrong earlier. You can run low impedence injectors on a high impedence system by adding the properly rated resistor in line.

On a DET, the system is low impedence so you can't run high impedence injectors as there's no way to lower the impedence to match the system.

Soooo, the DE injectors will not work on a DET.

All this was covered in detail quite some time ago but it may be that those archives were lost when we switched over to the new system.

Actually the CA18DET stock ECU *is* setup for high impedence, thats why we have the injector dropping resistor.. you could remove that and jumper wire where it was, but you wouldn't want to run those injectors anyways, too small.

so all you have to do to run high impedance injectors is to remove the resistors and rewire accordingly?I have 450cc DSM inj now anyway
