Took off the timing belt cover to swap out the water pump on my 2007 M35 and can't remember where I pulled this bolt and nut from. Has a #10 stamped on the head of the bolt.

That looks to be a pretty beefy bolt...I haven't done this job on the older M but perhaps this is for something like the alternator? Does that get removed or touched?

High-grade bolt with a clamp, steering rack maybe?

You only took the timing cover off? Nothing on the back side of the engine?

Ill try and take a quick look at my engine today and see if I can find something that looks like it.

Yeah just the timing cover, alternator and steering pump but I have all the bolts on there, just can remember where I pulled this off and why

I'll check but I didn't mess with the steering rack

Didn't mess with the back of the engine, just the front

I am in the middle of a head gasket and engine oil pan replacement so I cant take a picture of it assembled but I did label it so that may help you.
It is in a bracket that's left of the cylinder head near the cam sprocket and right of the exhaust manifold. Hope that helps.

Actually, I just noticed yours is an M35 and not an M45. And it looks a little different. But it does have a #10 stamped on the bolt. I'll see if I have anything else similar.
