I just finished wiring in an HKS fan controller and as far as I can tell I wired it correctly, but the fan signal wire wont send 12v to the fan relay. I am using two 12" electric fans which go to a relay powered by a fused line from the battery. That relay has a ground and as far as I can tell is perfect. It isnt seeing 12v fromt he fan controller though.

I checked the voltage at the end of the controller harness for the main fan output (green wire) and it isnt showing any voltage either when temps are above where the fans should turn on.

The unit turns on, all of the options should be correct accordign to the manual. It shows the correct water temperature. I can't figure out where I went wrong, and ideas?

K, someone on northwestnissans solved it for me, the HKS uses a ground for the signal to the fan relay, not 12v like I assumed.

thanks for the email. i didn't realize the fan controller was going to be that big of a pain. but at least i don't have to keep replacing switches or forgeting to cut the fan on and off. i have left it on all night a few times and woke up to a dead battery and i forgot to cut it on untill i notice the car starting to run hot.
