well i have a high pitched humming or winding noise coming from my car... what could it be? sounds like rally turbos.
it sounds like its coming from the back of the car, from under, so somewhere b/t my transmission and diff...what would cause that?

manual, no leaking anywhere, haven't checked the fluids yet, but the LSD oil was just changed maybe 3months ago. it only happens when driving, and even if i barely touch the gas, it starts humming instantly.
my friend's friend is a mechanic and says that this is caused by putting an aftermarket LSD in there and not changing the bearings? im not sold on that story but who knows. figured i'd ask
i have an ATS carbon LSD, don't think that makes a difference.
also, another strange sound/vibration, only happens for a few minutes after the car's been sitting a while and drive somewhere, when i come to a stop, i feel a vibration in my shifer and hear a "wahhhh" sound. the vibration feels more like something is rubbing. so this leads me to think its the transmission, but the humming sound comes from the rear of the car.
i'm going to call a few shops and try to make time to have things checked out, but any input helps.

same thing happened to my car. i would hear the noise coming from the transmission. and when it's in idle i hear the rumble grinding like noise like it came from hell. so i drove it awhile like that, then i got on the freeway, hears something snap. then my car shuts off, then i pulled over, starts it back up again, starts, BUT it dies out in neutral and didn't want to move in any gear. what is the solution??
