hello nissan owners , i have a question and i need some help i have a 04 maxima with a bose system w/o navi. and now my quest. is my stock cd player does not work. Has anyone come across this problem ? and if did or didnt can give me some ideas what i should do beside goin back to the dealership. After having the car for 38k went back to my dealer and explain to them about my radio they have told me they couldnt do anything due the fact that i have went over 36k warrenty and if to fix by them i would have to spend at least $3500+. i have contact consumer affair in CA and im expecting a call but they have never called yet. PLease let me know what i should do. Its driving me crazy that i have to listen to my am/fm station all day when i drive this car thank you very much

Sounds like an internal failure of the BOSE unit if everything else works ok.

You could try contacting a reputable local audio repair facility in your area, or contact this company to see if they can repair it (you'd have to ship it to them though). http://www.carstereohelp.com/nissanBoseMax.htm

If you picked up a entirely new unit, it'd probably be easier to just swap everything out. I would plug in all the wires and test it before reinstalling, just so you don't have to take everything back out if something doesn't work.

I'm at work right now, but I'm pretty sure I can come up with some instructions and diagrams once I get home this afternoon.

Here is what I have for the removal procedure. If you have problems with, or modifications to, any of the directions, just post up. These directions are inclusive to models with Nav.

1. Remove DVD-map disk to avoid damage.2. Remove RH instrument lower cover(below golve box area). 3. Remove instrument passenger lower panel and glove box assembly. 4. Remove lower driver instrument panel(below steering wheel). 5. Remove shift knob and M/T or A/T console finisher. Disconnect all harnesses.

6. Remove cluster lid C. A. Remove screws from bottom of cluster lid C. B. Pull lid towards rear of vehicle to release clips. Disconnect electrical connector.

7. Remove cluster lid D. B. Remove screws. Pull lid toward rear of vehicle to release clips. Disconnect electrical connector.

8. Remove screws from front of NAVI control unit.9. Pull the carpet on the left of console aside and remove screws.10. Disconnect NAVI control unit connectors.11. Remove NAVI control unit.12. Remove screws and remove center stack. Disconnect electrical harnesses.

Installation is the reverse.
