Definitely check your timing , if it is making that popping sounds or some kind of back fire when you crank it, you timing belt could be off by few teeth since you replace the cam and you had to remove the timing belt,
Try not to arc the spark to the ground, as you will toast your ignitorAlso check the exhuast cam, some times when people remove the cas, the half moon piece on the exhaust cam where the cas plugs in breaks, and it either you won't get a spark at all, or the cas spins intermittently due to some dirt build around it that causes it to spin weakly.
