Need HELP Front sway bar link.

[LHD S13]

So i have been replacing my front lower control arm and the sway bar link and bushings refused to come out of the old control arm. (spun freely but couldn't remove) I tried to buy another sway bar link but my local parts store only have a side mounting sway bar link. Mine stand strait up and kinda looks like they are designed for the rear I ordered rear and front to my auto parts store to have a look at both. Research only shows s13's with side mount sway bar link. Anyone have an idea why this may be?
