Ok.... This is for my girlfriends car, but none the less. I don't know the exact specifics but my girlfriend has a Alpine 9883 H/U with (2) 12" Kicker Comps and some "Directed" Amp. I have never heard of that brand but anyways. I believe the Comps are from 2003 and they are DVC. She has had this system set up for a couple years with no problems, but it now cuts in and out. I was able to locate the source. If I push sideways on the White RCA input at the amp, Both subs hit hard, when I let go, they don't hit at all. Is there any way of testing if it is the Amp or the RCAs before I go and undo the interior to switch out the RCA if that is not the problem.

Cut the RCA connector, solder on a new one. If the problem persists, its something inside the amp that is loose.

from what you're describing, it sounds like its the amps...

you could either try terron's suggestions, or , if you have another amp, you can test it out on another amp and see if the RCA's continue to ive you that problem

It could be the actual RCA inputs on the amp... I've had those go bad on amplifiers in the past...

If the inputs go bad on the amp, there is no way just to replace them is there?

possibly, you just need a soldering iron and a steady hand
