Alright so over the weekend I installed new guides and tensioners and stuff on my 240 to get rid of the clank. I also picked up a lightened underdrive pulley for the KA of course which apparently the timing marks are off on.

I put everything back together and the thing started but when I gave it gas it died.

I took the valve cover off and put the crank to tdc with the help of my screwdriver in the #1 spark plug hole, also the cams lobes for cylinder #1 were pointing away from the center of the engine and I adjusted the distributor to fire on cylinder #1 according to this info.. http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/timing101.htm

I don't know what to do at this point as I am not sure where all the timing marks are supposed to be in relation to each other. One thing is that when I have the motor all set to tdc everything looks good except the timing marks are not on... The only thing I can think of at this point is that the crank chain has skipped a few teeth or something because JWT states that it is impossible for the upper chain to skip any teeth because there is no clearance.

Here are some pics of everything after the new parts installed... I can't really see the timing alignment marks unless someone out there can let me know what you think.

Here is a better picture so you can actually see where the timing marks are at on the upper chain.

Crank that thing by hand at least 5 times before you let the starter do its thing. Do this without the sparkplugs in and make sure there's no resistance from the valves hitting the pistons.
