I found something located in the sub-frame, just under the front engine mount that wants to draw current all of the time, even when the key is off.

It is a black box that has "Bridgestone" written on it, and nothing else that I could see through the sub-frame. You can hear it running all of the time, and it sounds like it is an electric pump or motor of some sort.

The wiring for it runs out of the frame, and up with 2 oxygen sensor wires. It connects to a Brown Clip near the front header and runs (What Looks Like) across the engine bay, under the "Nissan - Plastic Engine Cover", then back and down near the passenger-side firewall.

If I unplug the Brown clip, the pump/motor stops, so I know that it is definately what is making the noise. I have some pictures here to demonstrate. Can anyone tell me what this is, and if possible, what could be causing the problem???

Here is the Brown Clip, circled in Red.

Here it is a little closer.

Here is where it runs down with the two oxygen sensor wires.

And here it is when it runs into the sub-frame, just below the front engine mount.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Hey man thanks.

I Actually think I found out what it was on one of the other forums. The engine mounts are actuated, and apparently there is a regular problem with the mounts not de-powering. There was a Nissan Service Bulletin published that describes the problem being a result of a problem between the engine mount and the ECM.

The Bulletin is right here.http://www.nissanhelp.com/Owne...0.htm

A guy recognized my problem right away, and asked "You have an Auto right?". So I guess a lot of people have had this problem.

Have you, (Or anyone that wants to offer some advice) had any dealings with a dealer / manufacturer problem like this before? I know that the dealer here won't want to offer any help, as I have dealt with them before. What I want to know is, if anyone has dealt with something like this before, and how to approach the dealer with the problem.

Do I print off the bulletin and drop by to talk with a service manager casually, or should I built on whatever I can find about this and talk to the highest - ranking guy at the stealer-ship? I've dealt with the owner before, and he pretty much takes the stand that he can't do anything with problems that are out-of-warranty, while Nessan Canada won't listen to anything unless you have a current warranty either.

Is this something that should be covered outside of warranty?

all a tsb is saying is that they found a prob and it can fixed some way or another. the only time they'll do anything for you is if there is a recall. so if the tsb states how to fix the prob, then do that. if not, then you just have to have them fix it.

If I unplug it for now, will I have problems?

What is the purpose of having the mount powered???
