Well I got my 91' GTR front clip & I'm really happy with it so far. Compression is 160, 160, 152, 158, 156, 158. That's with only having pulled the plugs & sticking a battery in the car & jumping the soleniod. I hadn't tried it since I sprayed a little Kroil in each cylinder yet. I don'y know how long it had sat but I'm pretty sure with a little juice on the rings those numbers should bump up a bit. Next up is to get it to fire up & get some oil pressure readings.

I have a fuel pump as well as everything else I need I'm pretty sure... Except a couple things which should have come with my clip but didn't.

I'm missing;(1) MAF unit to the front turbo, air cleaner & the respective rubber hosing,& secondly the radiator & radiator hoses.

I tried to post in the WTB section but I guess my post count has me temporarily unable to do so... Would I be so lucky as to find someone in the Phoenix area which just may have some of this stuff collecting dust that I may purchase & maybe pick up this weekend-ish?

I'm trying to beat the 'warranty' clock & get the vitals confirmed before it runs out... Otherwise I'll have to find some stuff online &wait for shipping, etc...Besides the compression, this thing looks near new. The block is spotless & the little bit of oil/dirt muck on the oil pan area is from a leaking power steering pump hose connection. The rest of nearly everything else looks tops!

Thanks for any help or leads you can turn me on to. It'd be much appreciated!

Well I actually settled for Tiger. I got it for $3900. There price was pretty much won the give and take on the matter, figuring I was expecting to have to do a refresh anyway, worse case scenario.

I went back and forth a whole bunch & settled on them after talking with everyone there seems like 100 times & being sent an acre of pics I requested. After promising me some compression ratios which ultimately wound up not even as good as what I tested it at, & basically cutting the shipping to nearly half I figured why not.

As far as the parts go, the guy said where they do the work at, meaning removing the engine & trans from the clip which is now a Customs stipulation, is pretty busy. And if those parts weren't wrapped up on the pallets then it's unlikely that they'd still be lying around there. He said loose stuff like that basically just gets thrown in the respective scrap piles. He sent someone to look & he asked the mechanics that did the work.... & the stuff is just gone...

Those things are in the pics & he said that they do owe them to me, but as of now they don't really "stock" those parts & he couldn't get approval to strip anything off the other R32 clip they have up for sale. He said if I wanted to I could wait for them to locate something that would work & ship them to me, or I could just get that stuff myself & send them a bill for the total, in which they'd refund me a check.

I asked about a pause in the warranty ticking clock & he did acknowledge that should be an issue & didn't think it would be much of a problem because they do have this issue with me & the missing parts documented & there isn't anyone there that hasn't been involved in my order in one way or another.

That being said... I still want to have it running before the 'original' expected expiration date for the warranty just to minimize the chances for an error. I still have till the 15th anyway. And since I'm gonna take the 'get the stuff myself' & bill them for it route.... Well here I am.

True this has been a little bit of a hassle, but as far as what I was expecting to get and what I actually got.... I ain't b****in about it just yet!

So far I've got everything reassembled back into the clip, compression checked, a Bosch 044 fuel pump sitting on the drivers floor board all hooked up & the ignition switch figured out and live.

I just need those couple parts, then tell you the rest of the story...

Here is the very clip I bought, http://www.tigerautoparts.com/details.php?id=4340

As far as Tiger & their seemingly poor track record according to lots I've read from other folks, I can only say that seem to have got lucky. I let them know exactly what I expected for my money & wound up getting a little better than that.... well I think. Still yet to fire it up and get oil pressure numbers, & not to count chickens before they all have their own baskets or whatever, but I hope the gut feeling I've got about this one is right & it's a good one.

BTW, & maybe most know, but http://www.tigerautoparts.com/http://ww ... anese.com/& http://www.tigerjapanese.com , are all the same place.

Well I got up early this morn & said WTF. What am I really gonna hurt by trying to fire it up, if only long enough to see some oil pressure.

So without a radiator or the front MAF, I gave it a little shot of ether straight into the manifold & slipped the boot back on, hooked up my fuel pump alligator clip to a body ground & turned the flat blade screw driver 'key'.

It fired right up then died. It fired up again & sounded like it needed some throttle manipulation, then it died. So I just hooked up the accelerator linkage to the pedal, & the next time it fired I played with the gas pedal slightly. I kept it running for about 20 to 30 seconds... Long enough to find out that at a rough/high idle, maybe 1200ish it has a hair over 4 bars cold.

60-ish pounds is what I was hoping for & I'm really happy I tried to fire it up & that it did... !
