The single prong sensor is just for the water temp gauge in the cluster and can be removed. The double prong sensor is for the ecu which should not be removed.CursedGTR wrote:You do not want to replace those sensors in your piping, do what everyone is telling you to do and just get the adapters.
Also if you cannot find a sandwich adapter I have one just sitting here with the water hose adapter you need both are greddy. Since I have Oil Filter Relo Kit and Greddy Aluminum Radiator pipe I do not need either of them.
I would seriously consider the advice you are being given, those sensors were put there by the factory for a reason and it does not have anything to do with giving you a cool gauge to look at. The RB26 actually has the temp being read by the ECU so it is not to far fetched for the RB25 to have the same thing going.
yea alex I just got the 240sx temp sender, and the gauge in the S14 still reads high lol. I going to just use the aftermarket water temp adapter. Thanks for helping I wish I could fix the problem with the water temp in the stock cluster.Slo_240sx wrote:LEAVE NUMBER 1 SENSOR ALONE! That is our coolant temp sensor and your ECU needs it to base your air/fuel ratio. As for number 2 sensor, lose it? I hope you aren't using the RB one because you are SUPPOSE to use the Ka temperature sending unit (number 2). If you still have the RB number 2 replace it with a Ka one right away because it does not match your gauge at all and say you are overheating. Do what everyone says, sandwich adapter for the oil temp, and either get a greddy hose adapter for the temp sender or tee it off of the stock temp sensor with the correct fittings.-Alex
lol i don't know what I did wrong, I just got a brand new 240sx water temp sender, but it didn't change nothing the needle on the gauge still at high.ehacker01 wrote:Are you sure you can't use the RB #2 sensor? That's what I am using and it reads perfect on my dash. I even checked it against the nissan CONSULT scan tool and its right on.
lol, it shouldn't be, the needle just goes on high when I just turn the key, that's why instead of using the stock gauge i'm going to use the after market water temp gauge. I've been driving the car for 40min (somedays) and nothing happen, I know I know, don't drive the car without knowing the health of it. hopefully when I get the adapter for the sensor, that will fix that problem. Thanks for helping out.Slo_240sx wrote:Then you are overheating. Get it fixed or motor goes BOOM bye bye Monkey.-Alex
