Need help for a friend

About a month or 2 ago my friend bought a pignose with a SR20DET installed. So the previous owner tells him it works blah blah, but when it comes in he finds out the igniter went out. Bought a Q45 igniter ( if im correct) installs it... still doesnt start. So he notices that fuel isnt getting to the motor. So he takes the fuel filter off to see if its got pressure to send it out. Nope... so he replaces the fuel filter and buys a HKS fuel pump. Installs it and still no fuel is getting to the motor. He's replaced fuses checked wires, I think did everything he could. Motor cranks... sounds a bit dry but still cranks. I recomended a rebuilt and he allready thought of that but its gonna cost a bit sense both of us have no real area to rebuild a motor with out a neighbor calling the men in blue. So I come to you to see if anyone has any idea why it wont start. Note I dont really look threw it or anything Im at his house about 30 min at a time so I dont really go into detail.

so does the fuel pump start up can you hear it prime? if not double check the wires

This is going to be a stupid question but what would it sound like? That was one of the things I first checked... but I was expecting a kinda buzzing sound. Thoe I didnt hear anything.

You definately dont need to rebuild the motor just because the fuel pump wont switch on. First check the fuel pump fuse in the fusebox under the hood by the battery, then check the fuel pump wire next to the ECU (black/pink wire). I believe that the fuel pump relay is under the drivers side kick panel. Its the brown one, check for voltage and good grounds. I have a feeling that you might not understand any of this but atleast its a start.

Also make sure that you have your hoses connected to the right spot, may sound stupid but it has happened to people. But mainly check the relay just like bgsr240 said. And yes its like a buzzing sound, kinda like a mini motor starting

Allright thanks guys were gonna try out the suggestions today. Only reason I recomened a rebuild is because its a imported motor and we have no history of whats been threw it. Just thought maby a rebuild would help find the problem... still think he should consider a rebuild.
