I have the top of the cover off and i am having trouble getting the lower cover off. The lower cover is off 1/2 inches on the top of the lower cover. then on the bottom its off 1/4 inch. some thing seems to be holding it on and all bolts are off. Any ideas. thanks. nick

Are you doing a timing chain change?

Ok I just saw it up top sorry, In the book it says you have to take the pan off but really you just need to detach it from the engine then triple check and make sure all the bolts are off and none are hidden from view then you can try to pry it off carefully with a flat head but not to hard aluminum breaks easy. Some people with more patiance were able to do it with the pan on though but I say just make it easier on yourself and take it off.
